Letting something go is somewhat burdensome ....
Do you ever lost something? or maybe losing someone? Or saying goodbye to someone who will leave for good, far from you?
I read one of Lang Leave's poem, more or less the poem describes the way something changes and for sure we will face the bitterness, like losing something..
Let's read it together... And see behind the poem Leaves by Lang Leav...
Leaves
by Lang Leav
Deep in the forest among the trees
I heard the whispering of leaves
They spoke to me of letting go
and taught me all I had to know
Springtime shoots and renewal dots
branches brittle from the frost
Leaves bravely do what we refuse
New love will come to bear the loss
When time has come to pay one's dues
you mustn't be quick to count the cost
For those who hold on to what is lost
will learn there's so much more what to lose
Before discussing it further, I wanna tell some not that funny stories.. Well, the neighbor's house, in their house next to the place I live, had one tree. That day, in the very morning, I whispered to my self, while standing in front of the window, the beauty of that tree, which having thick leaves and many branches. And do you know what happened? That morning, around 2-3 hours later, the tree was being cut down, leaving no leaf left. I just amazed by its beauty but then... Hahaha. I just somewhat sad but laughing at the same time.. Somehow, admiring something and suddenly losing it, yeah it's happen in our daily basis.
Well ..let's discuss about the poem then...
The first paragraph, I think Leav want to tell us that actually tree is the one who facing lost everyday. Leaves fall down every minute from trees. Thus she told us that this way trees and leaves which part of them could teach us the meaning of letting go. What supposed to leave us will eventually leave us someday. Well, we know that leaves and leave have similar words and sounds. And of course, her name also similar 'Leav'.
Furthermore she also describe that leaves teach us something wonderful about letting go. 'New love will come to bear the loss'. According to the previous words, she said that we often afraid to begin again. To have a new love. To move on. Because maybe our previous love was precious, and we never imagined before, that we'll able to stand if we didn't live with that person. However, leaves teach us that accepting new love will make us feel at ease.
I would say to agree that last paragraph wanna tell us that, the one who hold on to what is lost actually losing more. I have had in the situation where, I didn't realize there are people in my surrounding worth my affection as I hold on to much to people I've lost.
Hence, ini my opinion what the poem wants to say is that, it's okay if we lost something, if it's meant to be it'll be, may be something better will coming up soon, and we always could learn from it. And we are human, are always think much before doing anything.
